Corinthia Hotels has made its anticipated Italian debut with the opening of Corinthia Rome at a historic palazzo.
The property has just completed a major restoration and renovation that preserves the former Bank of Italy’s detailed architecture while breathing new life into the building, originally built between 1913 and 1921. The hotel now brings 60 guestrooms and suites to Rome’s Campo Marzio neighborhood, right near the Pantheon, Roman Forum, and Spanish Steps.
“Corinthia Rome was created to be experienced,” says Danilo Zucchetti, the hotel’s managing director. “We invite the world to visit and fill this rediscovered building with vibrant energy. The authentic connection with Rome and its inhabitants is what matters most to us and is what makes the experience truly memorable, both for our guests from all over the world and for the Romans themselves.”
Some property highlights include the Corinthia Spa, a quiet, subterranean space with a treatment menu that’s Italian-inspired; a collection of panoramic penthouses; and the hotel’s three dining venues: Viride, Piazzetta, and Ocra Bar. Carlo Cracco makes his Rome debut at the Viride restaurant with his contemporary Italian cuisine.
Accommodations take on a residential feel, especially the large and sophisticated suites, including the Theodoli Heritage Suite, the duplex Campo Marzio Suites, the Chigi Suite with a sweeping rooftop terrace, and the Aurea Penthouse, each boasting their own unique and historic features.
