Israel Week Highlights The Holy Land In The U.S. And Canada

by Cheryl Rosen  May 11, 2016

The Israel Ministry of Tourism will be running a series of trade events in U.S. cities targeting travel professionals who do not currently sell Israel, to highlight what the country has to offer for U.S. and Canadian travelers.

Starting in Toronto on May 16, “Israel Week” will head to Chicago on May 17, Miami on May 18, New York on May 19, and Los Angeles on May 23.

Each stop will include a travel trade show featuring 30 tour operators, EL AL Israel Airlines, Air Canada, Turkish Airlines, and United Airlines, along with cultural institutions like the Israel Museum; a lavish dinner; and “TED”-style talks on current travel trends in Israel.

The Ministry reports that 2015 was the best year ever for tourism to Israel from North America, and that the first quarter of 2016 is up 5% over last year.
