Musicians To Sing Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah To Honor Montreal’s 375th Birthday
by Kelly HaroldMontréal will celebrate its 375th birthday with a free concert featuring the nation’s three major orchestras on Saturday, August 19. Directed by Simon Leclerc, this two-hour concert will bring together 350 musicians, singers and choir members, including Rufus Wainwright who will perform Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”
The event will take place at the foot of Mount Royal with performances from the McGill Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Métropolitain and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal to honor Montreal’s poet Leonard Cohen.
