New Caesars Republic Hotel Opens in Scottsdale
by Bill Fink /The new Caesars Republic hotel opened this March in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is the company’s first non-gaming property in the United States, a fresh direction for the Caesars brand.
The modern, 11-story mirrored glass tower is a striking urban oasis with 265 guestrooms, 20,000 sq ft of event space, two pools, three restaurants, and an outdoor 8th-floor veranda with expansive views of Camelback Mountain and the city on one side, and the adjacent Scottsdale Fashion Square luxury mall on the other.
This new “lifestyle hotel experience” in Scottsdale is the initial Caesars’ expansion of this type, with similar properties planned in Dallas, Miami, and West Hollywood California. “We want to keep up with the Hiltons of the world with diverse properties reaching customers with different lifestyles,” Ryan Kirby, the hotel’s director of sales and marketing, told Travel Market Report.
The hotel is targeted at a “sophisticated adult customer” in an urban setting that combines relaxation with “high energy” activations like pool parties, bar, music, and foodie events, said Kirby. “Kids are still welcome, though,” he adds.
Caesars Republic is fully integrated into the Caesars Rewards loyalty program, meaning guests here can use points from stays and dining for similar experiences at Caesars properties and casinos in Las Vegas and beyond, and guests with credits from Vegas properties can use them here.
The hotel offers a standard 10% commission for travel advisors booking clients here, according to Kirby, who says the property is in the process of setting up a website portal and custom booking codes for use by agents.
Caesars Republic rooms
Caesars Scottsdale features 265 guest rooms split into four different classes:
• 159 one-king rooms
• 73 two-queen rooms
• 28 luxury suites
• 5 penthouse suites
The hotel’s regular rates range from $379 to $1,300 per night in holiday periods with rates as low as $159 per night during the summer, with bonus deals available for locals interested in an air-conditioned staycation escape. Rates for the high season in the winter months start at $529 per night.
Room décor across all the room classes features light browns, whites, and beiges, with clean lines and open space giving a relaxed cool desert vibe. Like the hotel exterior, room furniture and fixtures are modern with a contemporary western feel. Most rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with either city or desert views.
Food, beverage, and facilities
Caesars Republic Scottsdale has plenty of space to host conferences, parties, weddings, and other events, with a total of 20,000 square feet of event space. The conference center is anchored with a 7,000 sq. ft. ballroom, with five 650 sw. ft. meeting rooms and an executive board room that seats up to 16. For indoor-outdoor events, the ballroom opens onto the Cleopatra Pool & Bar area which is equipped to host its own functions.
The hotel boasts two signature restaurants created by celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis. Luna by Giada serves fine Italian cuisine ranging from pizza to pasta and a signature two-person 32-ounce porterhouse Bistecca alla Fiorentina steak with ravioli. Pronto by Giada is the casual café offshoot of Luna, with breakfast and lunch sandwiches for dine-in or to-go, and a full selection of blended coffee drinks and pastries. Luna Bar, in the center of the Luna restaurant, serves up cocktails during dining hours.
One of Caesars Republic’s attractions for both guests and locals is Seven, a seventh-floor pool lounge, nightlife party center, and fine dining locale. Pool snacks and drinks are available by day, and gourmet meals are served at night. After dinner to midnight, Seven is a party scene as DJs spin tunes, and mixologists blend cocktails including 4-person decanters of Old Fashioneds.
The two pools at Caesars Republic include Cleopatra’s Pool and Bar on the first floor, and the pool at the center of the Seven entertainment area, with cabanas, lounge chairs, and great views.
The property also offers a well-equipped fitness center, with select suites coming complete with their own Peloton bikes.
Location
The Caesars Republic is located on the northern side of Scottsdale, adjacent to the upscale Paradise Valley suburb. The hotel is about a nine-mile, 20-minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor airport.
The hotel’s Scottsdale location is a good base for excursions to golf outings at many nearby courses, and baseball spring training trips, and is a short drive for visits to Old Town restaurants, galleries, and boutiques.
The hotel stands next to the Scottsdale Fashion Square, a huge luxury shopping mall with dozens of options for shopping, dining and entertainment that are popular with both visitors and residents.
