New Opening: Amrit Ocean Resort, Wellness Retreat in Palm Beach
by Briana Bonfiglio /A brand-new, luxury wellness retreat has opened in Palm Beach, Florida.
Amrit Ocean Resort is going all in on the wellness vacation trend that’s swept the industry. Its expansive spa blends Eastern medicinal principles with Western luxury – all on Palm Beach’s Singer Island overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
“Amrit is the next generation of luxury wellness resorts, and we are excited to enhance our guests’ minds, bodies and spirits,” said Reggie Cooper, general manager at Amrit Ocean Resort. “After two decades of dedication by the Barot family, their vision for a place designed to enrich lives through the engagement of the five pillars of wellness and collaborating with personalized wellness coaches, has finally come to life.”
The Sanskrit word “Amrit” translates to “elixir of life,” and Amrit Ocean Resort uses several more words from this ancient Indian language to describe its health-focused offerings. Every part of the resort – accommodations, wellness offerings, and dining – stems from five pillars: mindfulness, nutrition, fitness, relaxation and sleep.
Accommodations
Amrit’s 155 wellness-inspired guest rooms – all oceanfront, including 25 suites – embody the tranquil elegance of the entire property. Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows, a rain shower and soaking tub, luxury bath salts and scrubs, yoga mats, bath robes and slippers, and a wellness mini bar.
The resort also has 40 two-bedroom sky villas with panoramic sea views and oversized balconies. In addition, Amrit has spaces for meetings and events: more than 10,000 square-feet indoors and nearly 3.5 oceanfront acres for conferences, meetings, weddings, and other private events.
Wellness offerings
The 103,000-plus square-foot Amrit Wellness & Spa is the beating heart of the resort, spanning four stories with both indoor and outdoor spaces. The spa implements a mix of European, Chinese, and Indian approaches to its wellness offerings.
Notably, Amrit Florida’s first indoor-outdoor hydrothermal water therapy circuit and one of South Florida’s few luxury hammams, an Eastern traditional steam bath. There are 25 treatment rooms and an extensive treatment menu. Twelve of these rooms include in-room showers, and there are also two deluxe couples’ suites with private steam showers and ocean views, plus a Thai massage room.
A fitness center with a 3,500-square-foot cardio studio and room for yoga, Pilates, cycling, meditation, and other classes is available. There are also two wellness-based retail shops within the spa, and beauty options coming soon.
Guests who want to go in depth and get personalized wellness plans can either be paired with an on-site certified expert or use Amrit’s Personal Wellness Support System (PWSS), a web-based platform that will also customize their Amrit stay and suggest treatments that will suit them.
Dining options
Guests have a few dining options at Amrit: TULA, the main wellness-based restaurant; Jeevi, the grab-and-go lobby market with snacks, juices, smoothies, and teas; and LALA, the lobby bar and lounge. Two more will be opening come the fall: the beachside restaurant TAAZA and the vegan-only venue AYRE.
Executive Chef Simon Apollonio directs the menus of all the restaurants, catering to people with all types of dietary needs.
