Mandarin Oriental has just debuted in Austria with the opening of Mandarin Oriental, Vienna.
The new hotel is housed inside an early 20th century courthouse and has been restored and transformed to offer 86 rooms, 52 suites, four dining venues, and a spa.
A restored courtyard lies at the heart of the property, which is located in Vienna’s First District, within the historic Ringstrasse district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mandarin Oriental has preserved the building’s original staircase and added a sculptural chandelier in the arrival area.
The hotel’s 138 rooms are bathed in natural light and sport bespoke furniture and soft, neutral color palettes. The property is anchored by a specially designed Mandarin Oriental fan that blends Austrian artistic influence with the brand’s Asian roots.
Mandarin Oriental, Vienna is just the latest in a string of new openings for the brand, which also recently debuted Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, and has properties planned for Amsterdam; Desaru Coast, Malaysia; and Cortina, Italy.
