Sofitel New York has appointed Andrea Puizina as its new director of sales and marketing, on the heels of unveiling the property’s complete renovation in November 2025.

Puizina has more than 19 years of experience in global sales strategy, hospitality management, and customer experience. In her new role, she’ll lead sales and marketing initiatives for the transformed 398-room hotel.

“Joining Sofitel New York at this moment of transformation is incredibly exciting,” Puizina said. “This hotel is an icon, and as it enters a new era, there is a powerful opportunity to tell a renewed story—one rooted in French elegance, New York energy, and meaningful guest experiences. I look forward to working alongside the team to strengthen the hotel’s market leadership, deepen relationships, and create lasting impact.”

Puizina was born in Croatia, and her career has brought her to Italy, Uganda, the Dominican Republic, and the United States. She has been based in New York City for the past 11 years and has held leadership positions at Virgin Hotels, Meliá Hotels International, Rocco Forte, and more.

“Andrea’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for our reimagined hotel,” said Dieter Schmitz, general manager of Sofitel New York. “She is a visionary leader with a proven ability to drive results in one of Sofitel’s most dynamic markets. Beyond her impressive international background, Andrea’s passion for people, hospitality, and the Sofitel brand uniquely positions her to lead our sales and marketing efforts into a bold and innovative future.”
