Travel Management Companies Direct Travel And Vision Travel To Merge

by Jessica Montevago  April 11, 2017

Denver-based travel management company Direct Travel and Canadian Vision Travel will merge, the two announced in a joint statement Monday.

Vision Travel is Canada’s largest independent travel management company and provides corporate, meetings, leisure and loyalty travel services. It will continue to operate under the Vision brand in Canada.

The deal will expand both companies global reach. The combined business will have 2,000 employees across North America and will represent over $3 billion in sales with offices in over 60 locations.

Over the past six years, Direct Travel has acquired Atlanta-based Georgia International Travel, Cleveland-based Traveline Travel Services, Massachusetts-based Colpitts World Travel and Virginia-based MacNair Travel.

Both executive teams will remain in place, with Vision Travel’s Ontario-West Region president Brian Robertson and Quebec-East Region president Joel Ostrov reporting to Direct Travel CEO Ed Adams.

“This is a tremendous growth opportunity for both companies and will benefit our clients by broadening our position as leaders in travel well into the future,” said Adams.

The transaction is expected to be finalized by the end of the month.
