Travel Professionals International (TPI) announced yesterday that travel industry veteran and former president and CEO of Air Canada Vacations, Zeina Gedeon, will join the company as its new chief executive officer, starting immediately.

“Zeina brings an incredible amount of experience to TPI,” TPI President Morris Chia said in a statement yesterday. “Through this experience and her relationships, we are perfectly poised for Zeina to take TPI to the next level of growth and innovation.”

According to TPI, Gedeon will focus on increasing sales and commission revenues for the company.

“Innovation cannot happen without the correct corporate culture, and TPI’s head office team and travel advisors have the incredible passion and knowledge needed to continue to grow and innovate together,” Gedeon said in a statement. “I’m excited to contribute to these ongoing efforts started under Morris’ leadership.”

She will be based in Montreal and Toronto.

Gedeon has been working as a board member for TPI since August 2016. Before that, she served as the chief executive officer of TravelBrands Inc. from September 2015 to August 2016.

She spent over 10 years of her career working for Air Canada, first as the president and CEO of Air Canada Vacations from May 2006 to October 2012; and then as the vice president of eCommerce and distribution for Air Canada.

In the past, she has also served as a board member for Umapped and the Planeterra Foundation.
