Intrepid Launches New Chile DMC to Expand Latin America Region

Small group specialist Intrepid Travel has announced the launch of a new destination management company (DMC) in Chile to strengthen the brand’s presence in Latin America.

Located in Santiago, Chile, the new operational hub will oversee the travel company’s operations in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay, allowing for strategic growth in Latin America, one of Intrepid’s fastest-growing regions.

“This is a key milestone on our journey to becoming tour operator of choice across Latin America by 2030,” said Gary Cohen, regional general manager for the Americas at Intrepid. “With a stronger local presence, we can scale responsibly and deliver even richer, more meaningful experiences in one of our most strategically important destinations, Chile, a world class hub for adventure travel and gateway to Patagonia.”

The expansion comes amid strong growth for Intrepid in South America, with bookings up 20% year-over-year and 32% higher for 2026 departures across Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. The travel company offers several itineraries in the region, including 10 “Short Breaks” tours, which Intrepid introduced earlier this month.

While the new Santiago office underscores the company’s long-term investment in the LatAm region, Peru remains the cornerstone of its portfolio. Intrepid has operated in that region directly since 2007, and recently announced improved value pricing for its 2026 Inca Trail tours.

“By focusing on value, we’re making the Inca Trail more accessible without compromising the trusted Intrepid experience; expert local guides, ethical porter welfare, and top-tier inclusions,” Cohen continued.
