ASTA and IADWP Announce New Joint Partnership

The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) and the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals (IADWP) have announced a new partnership that will boost resources for travel advisors in the destination wedding and romance travel sector.
The collaboration aims to serve professionals at the intersection of travel planning and destination weddings by uniting two organizations that “share a commitment to professionalism, education, and excellence,” said Zane Kerby, president and CEO of ASTA.
“Destination weddings and romance travel represent a high-value, high-touch segment of our industry,” Kerby added. “By partnering with IADWP, we are giving travel advisors the tools, insights and connections they need to succeed while delivering unforgettable experiences for their clients.”
ASTA members will benefit from the strategic partnership with increased, specialized training on destination wedding and romance travel planning. Overall, the collaboration will expand member access to education and support advisors who are aiming for continued growth in this sector.
Beyond education, the partnership will give ASTA enhanced visibility with travel advisors in the destination wedding space who may not yet be involved with ASTA. It will boost cross-industry insights and strengthen supplier relationships, as the IADWP has strong connections with tourism boards and industry stakeholders in many parts of Latin America and the Caribbean, such as Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
IADWP members will also benefit from sharing best practices, collaborative learning opportunities, and increased visibility. The two organizations are planning for co-developed education, cross-promotional programming, and opportunities for deeper engagement among members of both groups.
“By aligning with ASTA, we are creating new pathways for education, collaboration and professional growth for our members,” said Kitzia Morales, president of IADWP. “Together, we can better support professionals who plan some of life’s most meaningful travel experiences.”
Morales will be a speaker at the ASTA Travel Advisor Conference in San Diego in May, where she will share actionable insights on destination wedding and romance travel.
