The Travel Institute Launches 11th Edition of CTA Certification Program
by Daniel McCarthy
The Travel Institute officially launched the 11th edition of its Certified Travel Associate (CTA) program on Tuesday, updating what is widely considered one of the gold standards for travel advisor education.
The new CTA, which is the flagship program for the institute, features three main curriculum overhauls designed to reflect the evolving role of today’s travel professional.
The first is an all-new cruise module developed in partnership with the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and sponsored by Royal Caribbean, AmaWaterways, and Scenic Cruises. The module covers product differences, cruise categories, marketing strategies, and how to match a client to the right itinerary.
The second is a modernized selling strategies module, which focuses on the client sales cycle, including how to convert initial inquiries into bookings and build long-term relationships.
The third is a updated all-inclusive module that dives into one of the fastest-growing, highest-demand segments in the industry. It covers distinct resort categories, destination comparisons, and preference matching.
“Success for travel advisors today means being skilled communicators, confident sellers, lasting relationship builders, AND being geography and travel experts,” said Guida Botelho, CTIE, vice president of The Travel Institute. “CTA 11th Edition ensures travel professionals strengthen their real-world travel knowledge and their business skills to ensure credibility with the consumers who count on them.”
In addition to the updated curriculum, all CTA graduates gain placement in The Travel Institute’s Certified Travel Agent Directory to help capture client leads, and they earn digital credentials to market their certification on public and social channels.
