New Opening: IHG’s First Vignette Collection Hotel in the Americas
by Daniel McCarthy /IHG Hotels and Resorts on Tuesday officially welcomed Yours Truly D.C., the company’s first Vignette Collection hotel in the Americas, to its growing portfolio.
The hotel sits in D.C.’s Dupont Circle neighborhood, offering 355 guestrooms not far from The White House and the Washington Monument in the U.S. capitol. IHG says the hotel is a “bohemian-inspired haven.”
“We committed to bring Vignette Collection to the American market and this first opening in the nation’s capital sets the stage for growth of Vignette Collection across the Americas,” Claire Bennett, Global Chief Customer Officer for IHG Hotels & Resorts said. “This is an exciting addition to the over 6,000 hotels available within the recently reimagined IHG One Rewards loyalty program, and we look forward to creating unique moments and unexpected connections at Yours Truly DC for our members and guests.”
For meals, the hotel also Mercy Me, a “Sorta South America”-inspired restaurant created by D.C. locals Andrew Dana and James Beard-nominated Chef Daniela Moreira, and Call Your Mother, which offers some Jewish breakfast and lunch classics including bagels sandwiches and coffee.
The hotel also includes El Donut Shoppe, an outpost of the famed Orlando record store that’s located off of the hotel’s lobby and offers records for purchase along with a line-up of on-site programming, including pop-ups and some intimate house shows.
There’s also a gym, 15,000 sq. ft. of meeting and events space, and Groom Guy, a modern barber shop.
All of IHG’s Vignette Collection hotels are one-offs, with a focus on stays that are “authentic, experiential, and considerate,” according to the company. It consists of independent hotels that have a strong identity with independent owners and operators. The brand was added to the IHG portfolio in 2021 as the company’s sixth brand launch in four years.
While Yours Truly D.C. is the first one in the Americas, there are already Vignette Collection hotels in cities like Bangkok and Brisbane.
