Netherlands-based hotel company citizenM officially opened its newest hotel, citizenM Miami, in the city’s downtown on Monday.

The 20-story hotel features 252-rooms, all uniform in size and style, featuring wall-to-wall windows, king beds, unlimited WiFi, and streaming TVs. The rooms feature art from ten different artists as part of an Open Art Call that citizenM ran with 70 different artists earlier this year.

Guests visiting the hotel will enter through a non-traditional lobby-styled living room with furniture from Swiss designers Vitra, books, and art, designed to feel like a home.

For food and drink, the hotel offers canteenM, one of the brand’s signature eateries, which serves food and drink 24 hours a day at the hotel’s lobby. Elsewhere, the hotel offers two different terraces for guests to enjoy, one overlooking S. Miami Avenue and the other facing one of the city's greenest garden spaces.

The new Miami hotel will also mark citizenM’s first debut with a rooftop pool exclusive for in-house guests and eight meeting rooms.

The property is one of two Miami hotels coming from citizenM this year, which brands itself as an “upscale hotel” company. Right now, the hotel company has 27 total hotels in 17 different cities including London, Amsterdam, Paris, Geneva, New York, Boston, San Francisco, Taipei, and Kuala Lumpur.

“We’re thrilled to be opening the first of two citizenM hotels planned in Miami this year. With Jen Stark’s striking facade artwork and the interior curated with a selection of works from artists celebrating Miami’s diverse and vivacious spirit, we are excited to be able to provide guests with an unparalleled and culturally robust experience, making this property a landmark in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood,” Robin Chadha, citizenM CMO said.
