Southwest on Tuesday extended its schedule for booking through Sept. 30, 2026, and revealed some new flights coming next spring and summer, out of California.

First, Southwest is expanding in San Diego (SAN) with a brand new flight to Santa Barbara (SBA) starting on Aug. 4, and then adding roundtrip flights to Portland, Salt Lake City, and Seattle—also launching on Aug. 4. That will bring Southwest’s total departures out of San Diego on peak days to an all-time high of 139.

Southwest debuts all-time high departures in San Diego, featuring new service between Hawaii and the mainland set to launch from LA-area airports.

Next, Southwest is adding new flights to Hawaii out of California—one peak-day flight between Burbank (BUR) and Honolulu (HNL), starting on Aug. 4. And another between Ontario, Calif., and Honolulu, which will start on June 4.

Finally, Southwest is expanding out of Long Beach Airport (LGB) with a new flight to Portland and a separate flight to Seattle, both launching on Aug. 4.

The flights will feature free Wi-Fi for Rapid Rewards members, which Southwest launched last summer, and the airline’s new premium cabins, which it unveiled last month.
