Freddie Marsh, a much-loved business development manager for Western Canada at Hyatt Inclusive Collection, has announced his resignation from the company.
Marsh, a familiar face in the travel industry who has built many strong relationships with travel advisors over the years, shared the news in a heartfelt Facebook post on Wednesday (Oct. 21), accompanied by a video of himself pouring a bottle of bubbly and raising a glass.
“After years of promoting the perfect escape, I’ve decided it’s time to enjoy one of my own,” Marsh wrote. “I have resigned from my position with Hyatt Inclusive Collection and am wrapping up my time with the company.”
Travel Market Report Canada reached out to Marsh, who confirmed that his official last day is October 30.
Marsh, who lives in New Westminster, B.C., previously spent more than 11 years with Playa Hotels & Resorts, which was acquired by Hyatt Hotels in 2025.
He said the decision comes as he looks to spend more time enjoying life outside of his corporate responsibilities.
“I’m grateful for the experience, but I’m ready to move in a direction that feels right for me and creates a little more balance. More time with Dave [his partner], more travel just for the fun of it, more hiking and biking, and more time to enjoy everything life has to offer.”
Known for his warm personality and sense of humour, Marsh also took a moment to thank the colleagues, partners and friends who have been part of his journey.
“I raise a glass to my Hyatt colleagues, travel advisors, industry partners, and friends who have made this journey so memorable. Thank you for the support, the laughs, and the wonderful friendships along the way!”
But Marsh isn’t closing the door on the travel industry for good. He actually teased the possibility of a new opportunity.
“While I’m saying goodbye to full-time corporate life, I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to the travel industry,” he wrote
“There may even be something on the horizon that brings part of my career full circle,” he wrote, sharing a “wink” emoji, noting that he’ll share more details later.
“Cheers to what’s next!” he added.
