New Opening: Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has just opened Fairmont Chesire, The Mere, the brand’s fourth property in the U.K. 

Accor partnered with Select Group to renovate and restore a countryside estate on The Mere Lake. What resulted is a Fairmont hotel set on 157 acres, offering elevated dining, spa, event spaces, and 18-hole golf course. 

“Following its comprehensive transformation by Select Group, this magnificent property will introduce Fairmont’s globally acclaimed hospitality and heartfelt service to this iconic location,” said Omer Acar, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. “The property is poised to become a vibrant social epicenter, meticulously designed to offer unparalleled experiences, including incredible golf, spa and wellness in the great outdoors, as well as dining by globally renowned Gordon Ramsay, and is a true celebration of the region’s diverse history and landscape.”   

Fairmont Chesire, The Mere features 116 guest rooms, including 23 spacious suites. The hotel offers a private setting, while still being located just outside Knutsford and close driving distance to Manchester and the Peak District. 

The property’s signature restaurant is Gordon Ramsay at The Mere, serving classic British cuisine. Guests can also eat and drink at The Orangery for afternoon tea and evening cocktails and The Club Lounge for global fare. 

The Fairmont Spa offers a thermal suite with a pool, sauna, ice baths, steam rooms, and salt inhalation chambers, as well as six treatment rooms. There is also a Technogym offering outdoor studio classes and the Spa Cafe. 

For events, the property has a Grand Ballroom that hosts up to 1,000 guests and can be divided for smaller parties. It also has several boardrooms with landscape views. 

Fairmont Chesire, The Mere joins Fairmont’s three existing properties in the U.K.: The Savoy, A Fairmont Hotel; Fairmont Windsor Park; and Fairmont St Andrews.
