Hyatt Centric Sapporo has just opened in the heart of Hokkaido’s lively capital city.
The new hotel brings 216 guest rooms and two restaurants to the heart of Hokkaido, a popular tourist destination in northern Japan. Hokkaido is known for its ski resorts, hot springs, seafood, and major annual events shaped by the seasons.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Hyatt Centric brand to Sapporo, a dynamic destination where every season reveals a new side of Hokkaido,” said Yuki Takimura, the hotel’s general manager. “Placing you in the middle of the action, Hyatt Centric Sapporo is designed to be an ideal starting point for exploration. Through an insider’s lens, we look forward to helping World of Hyatt members and guests discover local flavors, cultural traditions and seasonal experiences that make every stay unique.”
Hyatt Centric Sapporo places guests near Odori Park, which hosts famous festivals such as Sapporo Snow Festival, YOSAKI Soran Festival, and Sapporo Autumn Fest. It is also located near public transportation.
The hotel is housed on the top floors of a mixed-use tower. Guestrooms have expansive windows inviting in natural light and cityscape views. The property’s design takes inspiration from local traditions, with a large wooden check-in counter crafted by a local artisan, straw artworks adorning the public spaces, and other textures and motifs drawn from the region.
For dining, guests have the option of Matsu Grill & Bar or Mr. Fish by Hyatt Centric Sapporo. Matsu Grill & Bar is set in an open, airy space on the 17th floor and serves wood-fired cuisine, while Mr. Fish is a casual eatery on the ground floor.
