The Travel Agent Next Door (TTAND) is teaming up with technology and media company NextTrip, Inc. in a new joint venture designed to turn travel inspiration into bookings, creating fresh lead-generation opportunities for Canadian travel advisors.
Under the agreement, NextTrip will generate travel inquiries through its streaming media and marketing channels, with TTAND distributing those leads to participating agent partners across Canada through its existing Lead Generation Program.
The partnership will leverage TTAND’s network of 1,850 travel agents nationwide and NextTrip’s portfolio of travel media properties, including JOURNY TV, a free, ad-supported streaming television network dedicated to travel programming.
“We are excited about this new opportunity. NextTrip will generate travel inquiries through its streaming media and related marketing channels, while TTAND will provide a dedicated team of travel advisors and end-to-end fulfillment,” said Flemming Friisdahl, TTAND’s CEO, in a press release. “This will bring incremental business for our agent partners in our Lead program and of course to our supplier partners.”
Turning Inspiration Into Bookings
At the heart of the partnership is JOURNY TV, which reaches Canadian viewers through Samsung TV Plus, LG Smart TVs, Roku, Apple iOS, YouTube and its own website.
Canada is already one of JOURNY TV’s five largest international markets, with Canadian viewers accounting for approximately 1.3 million minutes of viewing time each month.
The joint venture aims to capitalize on that audience by connecting viewers inspired by travel content with Canadian travel advisors who can help plan and book their trips.
“We are excited to establish a partnership with such an innovative group as the Travel Agent Next Door. Canada is a top five market globally for JOURNY TV. This relationship provides a FastTrack for NextTrip’s Canadian viewership affording a “Watch Click & Go’ solution, while also ensuring excellence in customer service,” said Bill Kerby, CEO and Director, NextTrip, Inc., in a statement.
Under the agreement, Canadian consumers responding to NextTrip campaigns will be directed to a dedicated JOURNYGO Travel website or telephone service, where they will be connected with TTAND advisors trained to support the program.
The service will accommodate both individual travellers and groups.
Friisdahl said JOURNY TV’s Canadian content strategy will also play a role in generating interest across several travel categories.
“JOURNY TV will provide specialized programming and travel offers tailored to the interests and aspirations of Canadians. Potential segments include destination weddings, golf, cruise, luxury and adventure travel.”
New Opportunities For Advisors
For TTAND, the arrangement represents another channel for generating consumer inquiries and directing potential business to its network of independent travel advisors.
The host agency says its coast-to-coast presence will allow JOURNY viewers to work with local travel professionals operating Canadian-owned businesses, while benefiting from personalized assistance throughout the booking process.
“Our role is to help turn travel interest into a well-serviced travel experience,” said Brad Miron, vice president of strategic partnerships at TTAND, in a statement.
“With advisors in every province, we can connect Canadian travellers with local expertise while supporting Canadian-owned businesses in their communities. By bringing together our advisor network, supplier relationships and operational capabilities with JOURNY’s content and audience, we see an opportunity to create incremental business for our advisors, supplier partners and NextTrip.”
The new program is expected to launch in December 2026.
