MSC Cruises has placed an order with Meyer Werft for four next-generation cruise ships, along with the option for two additional ships. All will be part of the all-new “New Frontier” class of ship.
Each ship in the “New Frontier” class will have a maximum passenger capacity of 5,400 and measure approximately 180,000 gross tons.
The ships will be delivered annually starting in 2030.
“The New Frontier class will enable us to design new and exclusive itineraries, offer exceptional guest experiences, and will feature next-generation environmental technologies that will advance our next-zero 2050 commitment,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of MSC Cruises.
This is the first order that MSC Cruises has ever placed with Meyer Werft.
