Royal Caribbean Cruises Reveals Vanuatu Plans
by Dori Saltzman /Before there were plans for Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, Royal Beach Club Cozumel, or Perfect Day Mexico, there were plans for Perfect Day at Lelepa an island in the Vanuatu archipelago in the South Pacific. First announced in 2019, the destination was set to replicate the success of Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and all mention of Lelepa vanished.
Until three days ago when Jason Liberty, CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises, revealed the line’s new plans.
“We’re going to have the world beach clubs, one in Nassau. We’re going to have one in Cozumel, as well as in Vanuatu…”
Nothing else was said about Vanuatu, including when the destination is expected to open or even if construction has yet begun.
Royal Caribbean’s beach clubs will offer a Perfect Day-style atmosphere with several pools and restaurants, beaches, swim-up bars, live music, and more. Like Perfect Day, it will have multiple zones depending on what visitors want to do.
They will only be open to Royal Caribbean passengers and will cost extra to visit.
The first, Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, opens in 2025.
