Adventures By Train, a U.K.-based tour operator specializing in rail journeys, has announced its flagship itinerary: the Around the World in 100 Days tour.

The new 100-day tour, which debuts on March 17, 2026, takes up to 12 travelers on an extraordinary trip around the world. The journey begins in London, heading eastwards through Europe, Asia, and even North America.

Around the World in 100 Days was built around the industry’s most thrilling rail journeys, from Japan’s bullet train to the California Zephyr Amtrak route through the Rocky Mountains.

The package includes luxury accommodations at historic and five-star hotels, such as Istanbul’s Pera Palace and The Langham in New York. Guests will also enjoy two luxury cruises: the 23-day North Pacific Passage on Viking Venus and a seven-night transatlantic crossing aboard Cunard’s Queen Mary 2.

Guests will visit France, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Japan, Canada and the U.S. (14 countries total).

“The launch of Adventures By Train is the result of many years spent fine-tuning the very best rail journeys globally,” said Jim Louth, director, Adventures By Train. “Our new Around the World in 100 Days trip provides the perfect mix of world-class rail travel with hand-picked immersive experiences in optimum comfort. With a departure date of 17 March 2026, and just 12 spaces available, we are already seeing unprecedented demand.”

The journey is priced at $146,000 for solo travelers or $116,225 per person for double occupancy. The price includes a dedicated tour leader, all accommodations, most meals, first-class rail travel, two cruises, ferry crossings, private car or minibus transfers, and all entry fees.

Adventures By Train: A New Small Group Tour Operator for Rail Journeys

Adventures By Train is a recently launched small group tour operator that specializes in rail itineraries in Europe and beyond—perfect timing, considering the travel industry is seeing a rail renaissance in 2025.

The company was founded by Jim Louth, who set up the sister company Undiscovered Destinations in 2004. Today, Undiscovered Destinations offers tours to more than 60 countries worldwide.

Adventures By Train has a curated collection of unique escorted small group tours that combine the sustainability of rail service with the luxury of first-class and five-star accommodations. The company’s business model is built around authentic and sustainable travel without sacrificing comfort.

The tour operator currently offers a number of shorter itineraries with departures in 2025 and 2026, such as its 13-day Jakarta to Bali trip, 16-day Shanghai to Bangkok Rail Adventure, 18-day London to Malta via Sicily route, and the 25-day Buenos Aires to Lima itinerary.
