Westin Steps Up Its Fitness Offerings With Peloton High-Tech Bikes

Skyword:909265

For clients who like to stick to their fitness routine on vacation, Westin Hotels & Resorts has installed indoor cycling bikes in some of its guest rooms at properties across the United States.

Westin has partnered with Peloton to add interactive bikes with 21.5-inch waterproof Android touchscreen tablets that can stream live studio cycling classes or on-demand videos to its rooms. The bikes also track metrics, recording cadence, resistance and heart rate, and allow riders to see their ranking.

The Peloton bikes have been added to guest rooms in Chicago, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles and Boston hotels and fitness studios in Austin, Detroit, Denver, New York City, Palo Alto, Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Diego and Seattle. They are currently available for booking.

Originally a Starwood brand known for its focus on wellness, it now falls under the Marriott umbrella. Westin already teams with New Balance to lend gym gear to guests, and offers amenities like Sleep Well Lavender Balm and SuperFoodsRx menus packed with nutritious food. Westin Wellness Escapes hosted at properties around the world, offer fitness classes, healthy cooking courses, panel discussions and wellness activities.

The next, a three-day retreat called “Recharge your Mind and Body” with Janet Hughes, will be held May 16-18 at the Westin Trillium House in Canada’s Blue Mountains. It will feature yoga and meditation, group wellness workshops and spa services.
