After an extensive, multi-million-dollar renovation, The Westin Playa Vallarta has just opened as the first Westin all-inclusive resort in Mexico.
The resort, located right on Banderas Bay, was formerly called The Westin Resort & Spa, Puerto Vallarta, and has now transformed into a new property. The Westin Playa Vallarta, an All-Inclusive Resort boasts 280 suites with new elevated room categories, immersive culinary experiences, and expanded wellness amenities.

Federico Greppi, president of Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) at Marriott International, called the opening “a significant milestone.”
“This property represents an evolution of the all-inclusive experience – one that stays true to Westin’s well-being ethos while responding to the growing demand for elevated, experience-driven all-inclusive travel in the region,” he said.
The Westin Playa Vallarta now features lush, biophilic design that incorporates original locally inspired artwork and handmade accents by Mexican artists.
There are also new accommodations options: Swim-Up Junior Suites, the Sky Pool Suites, Wholesome Family Studios, Heavenly Panoramic Suites, Oceanview Junior Site, the Heavenly Penthouse, and the Presidential Suite.

For dining, an open-air gathering space, Gourmet Gallery, brings 10 culinary and mixology concepts together in one area. Highlights include Tanto, a refined Japanese restaurant; Palma for Latin and Caribbean cuisine; Call Me Lalo Taquería, a Mexican restaurant, and several cafes and bars.
The new resort leans into Westin’s wellness ethos, offering a range of fitness and relaxation amenities. These include the WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio and Heavenly Spa by Westin, as well as offerings such as running and biking routes, yoga, sound healing, Fitdance, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
The resort’s main pools have been fully renovated, with one adult-only pool and one family friendly pool. The property also has brand-new pickleball and paddle ball courts. To top it all off, there is cultural programming offered daily from hands-on art workshops to movie nights to karaoke.
