MGM Resorts International and Marriott are bringing a new W Hotels branded resort to the Las Vegas Strip.
The two, which partnered under a licensing agreement that officially started earlier this year, have confirmed that plans call for a conversion of the Delano, the all-suite boutique hotel adjacent to the Mandalay Bay.
The exact date of when the conversion will completed is not yet known, but Marriott says that the property will join the W Hotels portfolio sometime “later this year.
It also said that “additional plans for the property” will be announced in the future, which likely means details on on-site specifics like dining, entertainment, room types, and more.
MGM also said that W Hotels, like all properties under that banner, will offer a “luxury experience” for guests. “As a luxury brand rooted in bold design and nightlife, W Hotels is well-positioned to elevate experiences for travelers in this destination,” Leeny Oberg, Marriott International Chief Financial Officer and EVP, of Development said.
The W will give MGM Collection with Marriott 12 different resorts on the Vegas Strip, including some of its more iconic names like Bellagio, ARIA, The Cosmopolitan, Mandalay Bay, and New York, New York.
