Accor Is Bringing a Mantis Collection Property to Madagascar
by Daniel McCarthy /Accor will debut a new Mantis Collection resort in Madagascar next month.
The hotel, called the Mantis Soanambo Hotel & Spa, currently operates without the Mantis brand as the Soanambo Hotel. Accor is planning to reopen the 48-room property with the Accor name in May 2023.
Accor says it is “partnering with the hotel’s owner to bring the unique hospitality experience of Mantis hotels, eco-lodges, and waterways to this idyllic corner of Madagascar.” It will be the third hotel under the same ownership in Madagascar’s capital city.
“We’re excited to expand into Madagascar and delighted that our partner has chosen Accor and Mantis to revive the beautiful Soanambo Hotel,” said Adrian Gardiner, Executive Chairman, Mantis Collection.
“We are confident that Mantis will be a great match, bringing the hotel back into the Sainte-Marie Island community, where it has enjoyed a long history and excellent reputation. Mantis is an exceptional hospitality brand that will bring a sense of sustainability and eco-luxury to the property, with thoughtful actions that will delight its guests as well as its local neighbors.”
The hotel is located in the southwest part of the island, a 45-minute flight from Antananarivo, via Tsaradia Airlines, the domestic division of Air Madagascar.
The experience at the hotel includes an open-plan reception, with a bar and restaurant. Outside of that, the hotel features two swimming pools, both with views of the ocean, along with the beachfront.
