Club Med Punta Cana to Reopen Nov. 9 After Fire
by Briana Bonfiglio /Club Med Punta Cana is temporarily closed due to fire damage and will reopen on Nov. 9.
A fire broke out in the resort center in the early morning on Sept. 12. No serious injuries were reported, and it was put out quickly. However, the resort center sustained significant damage, causing Club Med to close the Dominican Republic resort for guests’ safety.
“This period will allow us to take the necessary time to ensure that, upon reopening, we provide the most optimal guest experience possible,” Club Med said in a statement. “Our priority remains the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of our guests, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Club Med Punta Cana this November.”
Guest rooms, restaurants, and public spaces were not impacted by the fire. All resort offerings, including dining, kids club programming, and other activities, will be restored upon its reopening.
All guests who have reservations at Club Med Punta Cana during the temporary shutdown have been automatically reaccommodated to the neighboring Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda.
