The highly anticipated Six Senses London is now open, bringing 109 rooms and suites to The Whiteley mixed-use complex near the city’s Hyde Park neighborhood.
Six Senses London follows in the footsteps of other recent Six Senses openings in big cities, such as Six Senses Rome and Six Senses Kyoto. Once known for more far-flung, remote destinations, Six Senses, an IHG Hotels & Resorts Luxury and Lifestyle brand, now integrates wellness into more populated tourist spots.
“These are places and spaces designed for shorter stays and modern living which support guests to feel good every day. No longer just on a fleeting holiday, but on home soil too,” said Neil Palmer, COO of Six Senses. “While Six Senses resorts offer immersive, nature-inspired experiences, our urban locations infuse this same outlook with the energy of city environments.
“This is exactly what we’re doing at Six Senses London – breathing new life into a once-sleeping giant at The Whiteley,” he said. “Here, well-being is woven into daily life, curiosity is celebrated, and like-minded communities come together to connect and grow.”
The new hotel features London’s first hotel magnesium pool, a longevity clinic, the Alchemy Bar, a fitness center, and Biohack Recovery Lounge. It also introduces the brand’s very first Six Senses Place, a members-only concept for added value.
Six Senses London is the brand’s first property in the U.K. and replaces the former Whiteley’s department store. The hotel is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ long-term plan for the Six Senses portfolio, which has 27 open properties across 20 countries and several in the pipeline, including in Portugal, Japan, and Thailand.
