Nobu Hospitality just announced it will open a full-scale property – including a hotel, restaurant, villas, and residences – in Portugal’s Eastern Algarve.
This will mark Nobu’s second property in Portugal, joining an upcoming Lisbon hotel. It will be in partnership with real estate developer Norfin, which is making the Nobu part of a larger project within the Monte Rei resort complex.
“Monte Rei offers a rare combination of natural beauty, privacy and an established reputation for exceptional golf and residential living,” said Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality. “Together with Norfin, we have the opportunity to create a distinctive Nobu destination that feels deeply connected to the Eastern Algarve while delivering the hospitality, dining, design and service for which the brand is known around the world.”
The hotel will be set within nearly 1,000 acres of unspoiled countryside, centered around the area’s acclaimed Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. It will feature 100 guest rooms and suites, a signature Nobu restaurant, and curated amenities. In addition, there will be a selection of Nobu villas and branded residences.
Construction is set to begin in 2027, with the opening anticipated for 2029.
