Omni Hotels & Resorts has broken ground on its first property in Mexico.

Set to open in late 2026, Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita will join the hotel brand’s portfolio of more than 50 hotels and resorts across North America. The beachfront resort will blend contemporary design with elements inspired by the natural surroundings and local culture.

“As our first property in Mexico, the development of Omni Pontoque marks an especially exciting milestone in our company’s history,” said Kurt Alexander, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “We believe that the joy of travel is rooted in an authentic connection to a place, and we’re excited to celebrate Mexico’s rich culture with our guests, introducing them to unique experiences never before offered at an Omni.”

Omni Pontoque will feature 244 guest rooms and suites, as well as two four-bedroom villas with views of the Bay of Banderas.

The resort will offer three restaurants, a spa with 14 treatment rooms, two shops, and an indoor-outdoor fitness center. There will be several pools, including both adult-only and family-friendly options, and a kids’ club.

In addition, Omni Pontoque will have 27,000 square feet of event space, including a 6,000-square-foot ballroom, an open-air pavilion, and multiple event lawns and meeting rooms.
