Bahia Principe Thanks Agents With Rewards Program

As Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its four- and five-star hotels across the Caribbean, it wants to recognize the work of travel professionals by developing an agent rewards program.

“It’s our way of saying thank you to the agent community,” Bahia Principe’s head of trade marketing Alba Mingo told Travel Market Report.

Rewarding agents
Through Bahia Principe Rewards—scheduled to go live in September—agents can earn points when they book with one of the group’s properties, as well as get special rates. While the specifics are still being worked out, Mingo said the tiered program aims to be user friendly. “It’s going to be achievable; we want the agents to make good use of it,” she said. The program will also give agents the chance to earn vouchers for hotel services like meals or spa treatments.

Agents can learn more about the Bahia Principe resorts through its training program, also available on the new agent platform.

Caribbean Expansion
Focused on its growth in the North American market, Bahia Principe will open its 15th property in the Dominican Republic this November with the five-star the Luxury Bahia Principe Fantastia Don Pablo Collection hotel.

The 512-room resort in Bávaro Beach features five restaurants, five bars and a spa, as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Its all-inclusive offerings include waiter service on the beach and at the pool, unlimited buffet and a la carte meals, one free hour per day of non-motorized water sports, 24-hour room service, and access to the nearby Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda and Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar.

Fantasia is a family-oriented property, said Helen Montijano, vice president of sales and marketing for Canada and the United States. There’s a pool with a sand beach, a water park and plenty of entertainment for all ages, including a teen club, and at all hours. That includes shows at the pool, themed stage performances at dinner and workout classes.

“Things will be happening constantly around the resort,” said Lluisa Salord, corporate commercial director. “We want to have that ‘wow’ factor.”

Bahia Principe is owned by Spain-based Grupo Piñero. It currently operates 24 all-inclusive properties in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico and Spain.
