New Opening: Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas Paradise Valley

Arizona’s iconic Scottsdale Plaza Resort has undergone a $42 million transformation and reopened as Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas Paradise Valley.

The new opening marks Kimpton’s second hotel in Arizona and one of the largest properties in the brand’s portfolio. Following extensive renovations, the resort now has a refreshed, relaxed, residential feel that reflects the peacefulness of the Sonoran Desert.

“Miralina is offering a new definition of luxury for the Sonoran,” said Colm O’Brien, the resort’s general manager. “At Miralina, we want our guests to connect with the desert on a deeper level; not through a scripted experience, but through honest access to the land and the people who know it best.”

Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas Paradise Valley features 224 redesigned guest rooms and 36 casitas as part of the phase one debut. Eventually, the resort will have a total of 404 rooms available, including spacious villas and residences. Accommodations range from king rooms to one-bedroom casitas with living rooms and wet bars, all with a fresh reimagined design.

The 40-acre property, nestled between the Camelback and Mummy mountains, prides itself on marrying seclusion and connection. Notably, several dynamic sensory art installations, called the Desert Reveries, are spread throughout the grounds, including the Canyon Echoes ambient sound windchimes and Canyon Mists cooling relief on the garden path.

When guests enter the hotel, they’ll be greeted by The Loom, a textile installation that ties together the lobby, restaurant, and bar. The hotel’s entrance area, gardens, and six pools are all oriented to frame the mountains for optimal views.

The resort features Spa Miralina, which offers five treatment rooms, poolside massage pavilions, a full-service salon, sauna, and cold plunge. In addition, the property boasts a fitness center pavilion and more than 50,000 square feet of event space. Programming includes fitness classes, stargazing sessions, artist talks, culinary demonstrations, and more.
