American Airlines to Debut NDC Content on Sabre on April 3
by Daniel McCarthy /Making good on a message to its users from last year, Sabre and American Airlines this week announced that American’s NDC content will go live on Sabre starting on April 3.
Starting then, Sabre-connected agencies will be able to book and service American’s NDC content, including paid seats, through Sabre Red 360 and GetThere. Sabre users will be able to choose enhanced offers from American including Main Select and Flagship Business Plus fares, along with ancillary products.
“We are committed to providing our customers with a modern, seamless retailing experience across all channels,” said Thomas Rajan, vice president, global sales at American Airlines.
“Through Sabre’s network of travel retailers, we’ll be able to provide our enhanced, rich NDC content to travelers worldwide. This will open new business opportunities to American as well as our travel retail partners, and deliver a better, more tailored experience to the customers we all serve.”
The news means yet another airline has made the move to provide NDC content on Sabre. Avianca Group, which includes Avianca Airlines, Avianca Costa Rica, Avianca Ecuador, and TACA International Airlines, recently announced it would be the first Latin American carrier to get its NDC content through Sabre, a major milestone for the GDS.
Travelport and Air France-KLM have also recently launched NDC content this year.
