Marriott International on Monday announced that it has signed a new management agreement with Grupo Puntacana and MAC Hotels to start building a new W All-Inclusive property in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The plans call for the property to be built in Uvero Alto, Punta Cana’s high-end resort district, and to be the first W Hotels property in the area, and one of the first W All-Inclusive resorts globally.

It will offer 349 guest rooms with balconies and plunge pools, as well as several suites, to adults-only, along with a spa with 11 treatment rooms, a retail area, three pools with pool bars, and 11 different food and beverage locations.

“Punta Cana is the perfect destination for both the W Hotels brand and an all-inclusive luxury resort,” said Laurent de Kousemaeker, Chief Development Officer, Caribbean, and Latin America, Marriott International.

“We look forward to bringing the vision for this fun adult playground to life with Grupo Puntacana and MAC Hotels.”

Marriott expects to start construction “in the coming months” and officially open the property sometime in 2025.

While the property will be one of the first W All-Inclusive resorts globally, Marriott does have other all-inclusive in the Caribbean, including a Westin all-inclusive in Playa Conchal and five Autograph Collection all-inclusives in the Dominican Republic.
