W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu

Following a preview in 2025, W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu is now officially open. The Mediterranean island hotel centers design and culture, and marks Marriott’s W Hotels brand’s third Italian property, joining W Florence and W Rome.

The hotel is located on Sardinia’s northeast coast, in the historic village of Poltu Quatu, meaning “hidden port” in ancient Sardinian language. W Sardinia is set within the cliffs, overlooking the water, and embodies its location through thoughtful architecture and experiences.

“The opening of W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu marks an important milestone for W Hotels as we debut on the island of Sardinia and continue to deepen our presence across Italy,” said George Fleck, SVP and global brand leader of W Hotels. “Italy’s cultural influence is unmatched – from design and cuisine to music and fashion – and Sardinia brings a distinct rhythm all its own. This opening reflects our intention to grow thoughtfully in destinations where culture leads, and where W Hotels can offer a bold, modern point of view while staying deeply connected to place.”

W Sardinia features 157 guestrooms and suites, each designed as their own private retreats. Some suites have private plunge pools, and the two Penthouse Suites each have an outdoor terrace with a private pool, a full kitchen, and a bar.

The hotel’s architecture and design feed off Sardinian culture. Its signature W statue was designed by Sardinian artist Nicola Filia with steel and clay, and there’s also a sculptural wall inspired by marine life, arches and geometric openings, Sardinian Orosei marble flooring, and mirror surfaces throughout.

The property offers an array of on-site cultural and fitness programming, as well as off-site excursions, from ceramics workshops taught by local artists to traditional pasta-making classes to guided hikes and yoga.

To top it all off, dining includes marina-front and waterfront seafood restaurants, the WET Deck pool bar, and W Lounge. The hotel also offers the brand’s signature FIT gym.
