Moxy Hotels, Marriott’s industrial, artsy lifestyle brand, has opened a new location in Budapest, marking Moxy’s debut in Hungary.
The new hotel, Moxy Budapest Downtown, features 281 guest rooms housed within a former dance institution on the lively Kazinczy Street. The property pays tribute to ballet, movement and the free-spirited legacy of former Queen of Hungary Empress Elisabeth “Sisi” with vibrant artwork and design throughout.
“Moxy Budapest Downtown marks an important milestone for the brand as it enters the Hungarian market,” said Sandra Schulze‑Potgieter, vice president of Premium, Select & Midscale Brands for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International. “Budapest’s creative energy, nightlife and cultural scene make it a perfect fit for Moxy Hotels, and we look forward to welcoming guests to the brand’s latest European opening.”
The hotel, designed as a playful social hub for guests and locals alike to gather, has a rooftop bar called Saddle & Sky, a 24-hour fitness center, and meeting and event spaces. The hotel is anchored by large graffiti artwork in the lobby and features theatrical lighting and bold textures. Upon checking in, guests are greeted with a welcome cocktail from Bar Moxy and can then settle into their rooms, which feature modern comforts, functional technology, and workspaces.
