Delta Air Lines will become the third carrier, joining United Airlines and Qantas, to fly from Los Angeles to Melbourne when it launches the new route later this year.
Starting in December, Delta will operate the route—its third-longest flight—three times weekly on its new Airbus A350 aircraft. The airline said Sunday that it could increase frequency as its fleet grows with more A350 jets. The Airbus A350 features four cabin classes, including 40 Delta One premium suites.
The initial schedule has flights departing Los Angeles on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
