TMR Quebec in Punta Cana: Discovering the Renovated Club Med

TMR Québec flew to the Dominican Republic with over 100 journalists and travel advisors to rediscover the newly renovated Club Med Punta Cana. On the agenda: exploring the new facilities, immersing themselves in the Club Med experience, discovering a reimagined resort, and exploring the nearby Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda.

In the heart of the Caribbean, Club Med Punta Cana has been a leading all-inclusive resort for decades. Today, the resort unveils a renewed, more contemporary look, while remaining true to the brand’s signature spirit: a lifestyle that combines relaxation, conviviality, and discovery. TMR Québec joined this press trip to visit the 41-hectare site, nestled on a golden sand beach fringed with palm trees.

A village redesigned for a more intimate experience

Recent renovations demonstrate Club Med’s commitment to continuously raising its standards, reinforcing its premium and family-friendly positioning without betraying its core identity. Among the new features, the modernized Hispaniola restaurant and Bonavista lounge breathe new life into the heart of the resort. The redesigned rooms, in a boho-chic style, combine comfort and modern design while incorporating local materials and a colour palette inspired by Dominican nature. The lobby, now more intimate, prioritizes personalized service and relaxation areas, reflecting the group’s lifestyle philosophy.

The Dominican way of life, Club Med style

The resort unfolds like a journey, a journey through sport, wellness, local culture, and gastronomy. The guest experience is reimagined with separate family and adults-only areas, a variety of activities for all ages, and personalized service in the Exclusive Collection section. Every space seems rooted in Dominican heritage and the Club Med philosophy: creating memorable moments where everything is both accessible and elegant.

A schedule of activities that is both rich and dynamic

Club Med Punta Cana embodies the promise of an active and balanced vacation. The sports program is offered through a comprehensive schedule that allows guests to combine energy and well-being: sunrise yoga classes, Pilates sessions, beach workouts, tennis or pickleball tournaments, and even introductory golf or sailing lessons. One of the key attractions remains the Circus School (a Club Med exclusive). Aerial acrobatics, trampolining, tightrope walking: the experience appeals to both families and adults.

For wellness enthusiasts , the spa, lounge areas, gym, and quiet zones offer a way to extend this quest for balance. The resort manages the feat of providing an intensive program without ever becoming overstimulating. Everyone can find their own pace! A perfect balance between vitality and Caribbean tranquility.

A gastronomic signature that celebrates diversity

Among the new culinary offerings, El Mundo restaurant stands out as an innovative dining experience. Located in the heart of the village, this establishment showcases international cuisine in a sleek and inviting setting. Guests will discover an extensive wine cellar, a range of Dominican, Mediterranean, Asian, and French flavours, served in a convivial atmosphere that reflects the Club’s inclusive philosophy. The concept is festive, welcoming, and adds a cultural immersion to the dining experience.

The Bisutti concept, between elegance and celebration

The newly opened Chez Bisutti space stands out as a true showcase of Punta Cana’s renewal. This versatile venue is designed to host large-scale celebrations: weddings, conferences, or corporate events.

Its contemporary design, high ceilings, and chic tropical décor create a splendid setting for exceptional moments. Chez Bisutti combines spaciousness, technology, and authenticity. By adding Chez Bisutti to its portfolio, Club Med expands its reach into the high-end event tourism market. This represents added value for travel agents seeking distinctive venues for their clients.

Chez Bisutti

A successful balance between modernity and tradition

Club Med Punta Cana retains its soul while adapting to the new expectations of travellers: greater flexibility, more privacy, and a focus on local culture. It maintains the brand’s signature relaxed yet refined atmosphere, where every detail contributes to creating the feeling of a peaceful vacation.

For travel agents, this revitalization represents an excellent opportunity to reposition Punta Cana in their offerings as a premium destination, combining accessibility, a wealth of experiences, and quality service. With its range of activities, redesigned spaces, and enhanced culinary offerings, the resort confirms its place among the must-visit destinations in the Club Med portfolio.

Another nearby option: Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda

Located approximately 90 minutes by car from Punta Cana, Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda captivates with its unspoiled natural beauty. Part of the Exclusive Collection, this all-inclusive Club Med resort, comprised of four distinct eco-chic boutique villages, embodies understated luxury. Each area has its own unique identity: Archipelago, Emerald Jungle, Explorer Cove, and Caribbean Paradise. Whether for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a wellness retreat, everything is designed to offer comfort and tranquility. Here, the experience is in harmony with the environment: locally sourced cuisine inspired by sustainable practices, architecture integrated with the surrounding vegetation, and personalized service.

Beyond its spectacular natural setting, this Club Med stands out for several key features. First, the adults-only Archipelago village is located on the beachfront with direct access to an exclusive area of the beach and a private pool for each room.

The Emerald Jungle adults-only village is nestled in lush natural surroundings, close to the
Zen pool, spa, and fitness area. Ideal for wellness enthusiasts.

The Explorer Cove village is located near kids’ clubs and sports facilities (tennis, pickleball, mini-golf, etc.). It’s an ideal spot for families. The beachfront La Perla area (where the family suites are located) features a bar and a family pool. Additional services include a minibar replenished daily with soft drinks and a concierge service dedicated to making your Club Med stay as easy and enjoyable as possible.

The Caribbean Paradise Village offers a tailor-made experience for every type of traveler. Located in the heart of the Village, near the main pool, this concept pulsates with the rhythm of Dominican culture. Everything here evokes the Caribbean spirit: the decor inspired by local flowers and the exotic ambiance.

The free spirit, signed Club Med

Whether in Punta Cana or Michès Playa Esmeralda, the essence of Club Med remains the same: to offer upscale experiences where relaxation is combined with discovery. Punta Cana captivates with its festive atmosphere and diverse range of sports activities, while Michès charms with its exclusivity and pristine natural setting. They illustrate the brand’s ability to reinvent itself without ever straying from its core identity. As Carolyne Doyon, President and CEO of Club Med for North America and the Caribbean, states: “Club Med is the art of living. Living with yourself, living with your loved ones.” For travel agents, these two complementary destinations pave the way for a refined and diverse offering, true to the Club Med spirit.
