Elite Island Resorts, a collection of all-inclusive beachfront resorts in the Caribbean, has appointed Melissa Alexander as its new director of group sales.
Alexander brings more than 25 years of luxury hospitality and travel sales experience to the role. She has previously held leadership sales positions at other top Caribbean and Latin America resorts, including Atlantis Paradise Island, Goldwynn Resorts & Residences, Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection, Apple Leisure Group, and Prana Maya Island Resort.
“Melissa’s extensive hospitality expertise, proven track record of driving revenue growth, and deep understanding of the Caribbean travel landscape make her an exceptional addition to our team,” said Kari Tarnowski, chief commercial officer of Elite Island Resorts. “As we continue to expand awareness of our distinctive collection of resorts and strengthen our position within the group travel market, Melissa’s strategic vision and industry relationships will be invaluable in supporting our long-term growth.”
In her role, Alexander will help to expand Elite Island Resorts’ meetings, incentives, retreats, celebrations, and leisure group business, while strengthening partnerships with travel advisors, meeting planners, and others in the travel trade community. Elite Island Resorts operates beachfront properties in Antigua, Barbados, and Panama.
“I’m thrilled to join Elite Island Resorts at such an exciting time for the company,” Alexander said. “The portfolio offers a collection of truly unique Caribbean experiences, each rooted in the authentic character of its destination. I look forward to working closely with our travel partners and clients to create memorable group experiences while driving continued growth across the brand.”
