Fort George Belize, a waterfront boutique hotel in Belize City, is now part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.

The property is positioned between the sea and the historic Fort George neighborhood, allowing visitors to enjoy both the natural landscape and culture of the area. As it enters the Marriott portfolio, the new-and-improved Fort George Belize, Autograph Collection, will get several updates – including more elevated guest rooms and restaurants – to help attract future travelers.

“Autograph Collection Hotels celebrates independent properties whose stories are inseparable from their destinations. Fort George stands as a reflection of Belize City’s history, culture and spirit, delivering an experience that could exist nowhere else in the world,” said Ricardo Echeverri, vice president of owner and franchise services for Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America. “Fort George embodies that spirit through its longstanding connection to Belize City, its waterfront setting and the thoughtful way the property brings Belizean culture and hospitality into the guest experience.”

Currently sitting at 64 guestrooms and suites, Fort George will soon expand to 130 rooms with the addition of its Signature Sea View Tower. This debut will add 66 rooms across King and Queen accommodations, including two Signature Sea View Penthouses. The tower is expected to open later this fall.

The property also currently has one restaurant, The Treehouse, but will soon also introduce Marea, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, and The George, a “coffee by day, cocktails by night” concept in the lobby.

Fort George’s current K’IN Spa, BurnBox Gym, and courtyard plunge pool will soon be joined by a new waterfront swimming pool and retail boutique. The hotel will also expand its meeting and event spaces.
