Casa Verbena Madrid, Outset Collection by Hilton, has just opened, marking the boutique hotel brand’s debut in Madrid.
The 45-room property is focused on immersing guests in local culture through interior design and other thoughtful experiential touches. The name “Verbena” refers to a traditional Spanish verbena, a lively neighborhood party where people gather around food, music, and traditions.
Guests experience a taste of this through a daily Madrileño breakfast and “Our Madrid,” the hotel’s seasonal, illustrated insider’s guide to the surrounding area’s cafes, bars, shop, and other hotspots. Madrid-born designer Lorenzo Castillo also crafted the interiors to reflect the surrounding area, and guest rooms have rooftops with views of the city’s rooftops.
“Casa Verbena Madrid represents the essence of Outset Collection, offering guests a stay that feels deeply connected to the destination,” said Elizabeth Scruggs, brand leader of Outset Collection by Hilton. “As our first hotel in Europe, it sets the tone for how we envision the collection growing around the world: through independent hotels with compelling stories, strong local identities and a genuine sense of discovery.
Outset Collection by Hilton has more than 100 hotels under development globally, set to give travelers intimate, localized stays backed by the trusted Hilton name. Earlier this year, one of the first in the brand’s portfolio opened in San Diego.
“Madrid is a special destination for Hilton, and in recent years we’ve broadened our presence in the city with distinctive brands and properties designed to meet different traveler needs,” said David Kelly, senior vice president for Continental Europe at Hilton. “Casa Verbena Madrid builds on that story as the European debut of Outset Collection by Hilton. Full of character and with a strong sense of place, the hotel reflects the creativity and energy of Madrid. We’re delighted to welcome the hotel to our growing portfolio of collection properties across Europe.”
