This November, InterContinental New York Barclay will mark its 100th anniversary. To celebrate, the iconic Manhattan hotel will unveil a series of renovations that enhance the guest experience while preserving the property’s legacy.
The hotel has been running an ongoing Journey to 100 campaign, telling its story through programs such as Parlour Through the Decades, The Barclay Times, The Barclay Playlist, and The Barclay Residence.
Now, the hotel is launching the next phase of its celebration that takes it into the future: The Barclay Reimagined. So far, a set of redesigned guest rooms have been unveiled, and there is more to come in 2027, including the transformation of additional guestrooms, event spaces, and public areas.
“As InterContinental New York Barclay approaches its centennial milestone, this transformation reflects our commitment to honoring the hotel’s remarkable legacy while thoughtfully preparing it for the future,” said Sofia L. Vandaele, general manager and regional director of operations. “Every enhancement has been carefully considered to preserve the character that has defined the hotel while creating an experience that will continue to resonate for generations to come.”
InterContinental New York Barclay features 704 guest rooms, including 32 suites, in the heart of midtown Manhattan’s East Side, offering easy access to some of the city’s most popular attractions. The classic yet contemporary hotel was built in 1926 and, with The Parlour bar and lounge and sizable ballroom, has attracted travelers for weddings, business, and leisure, for a century.
