This week, Marriott is celebrating the newest addition to its portfolio, the dual-branded Le Méridien Salt Lake City Downtown and Element Salt Lake City Downtown.

The opening is also the 100th global opening, and the first in Salt Lake City, for Element Hotels, Marriott’s distinctive long-stay brand. It is also the first Le Méridien property in Utah.

The hotel adds 144 Le Méridien guestrooms and 126 Element guestrooms six miles from Salt Lake City International Airport, adjacent to Vivint Arena, and within 30 miles of some of the state’s most popular ski destinations including Brighton Ski, Solitude Mountain Resort, Alta Ski Area, and Snowbird.

All of the Le Méridien rooms offer floor-to-ceiling windows with city views along with Le Méridien signature plush bed, Malin + Goetz bath amenities, and illy coffee. All of the Element rooms also offer floor-to-ceiling windows, but, because it’s a longer-stay brand, also includes fully equipped kitchens and the brand’s signature Heavenly beds.

For food and drink, the hotel offers Van Ryder, a full-scale rooftop bar, the first in Salt Lake City, named Jack “The Rambling Kid” Van Ryder, an American cowboy and western artist. There is also Adelaide, an urban brasserie serving a menu of French and New Orleans-inspired food.

There’s also 8,355 sq. ft. of meeting space on the property, including The Triumph Ballroom, which can hold up to 642 people, along with a rooftop fitness center.

Both properties are participating in Marriott Bonvoy, the hotel company’s loyalty program.
