The Resort at Kapalua Bay, a luxury resort on Maui’s northwest coast, will soon rebrand as a St. Regis, after Marriott signed a management agreement with Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners.
As of March 14, Marriott manages The Resort at Kapalua Bay, which means the hotel now is part of Marriott Bonvoy. Marriott has begun the process of converting the oceanfront property. After some renovations, the resort is expected to join St. Regis Hotels & Resorts by 2027.
“We are proud to work with Kemmons Wilson on the evolution of this exceptional resort,” said Dana Jacobsohn, Marriott International’s chief development officer for global mixed use and luxury in North America. “Kapalua Bay is one of the most iconic leisure destinations in the world, and this agreement reflects our continued momentum in growing a best-in-class luxury resort portfolio that resonates with today’s discerning luxury traveler.”
The Resort at Kapalua Bay is set on 25 acres of oceanfront land and features 146 expansive, residential style accommodations that are multi-bedroom and overlook either the Pacific Ocean or tropical gardens.
The property also offers a 40,000-square-foot spa with 19 treatment rooms and ocean views, access to high-end golf courses and tennis courts, several outdoor pools, flexible indoor and outdoor event spaces, and direct beach access.
