U.K.-based hotel group YOTEL announced plans this weekend to open a new, flagship property in Tokyo in 2024.

The hotel will be YOTEL’s first hotel in Japan, bringing 244 rooms to Ginza, one of Tokyo’s most well-known dining and shopping districts. It will offer accommodations just a 15-minute walk from Tokyo station, which connects guests to the rest of the country, and the city’s airport, via Japan’s high-speed rail network.

Each room, YOTEL says, will include its signature robotic concierge called YOBOT, motorized smart beds, and fully integrated technologies that allow for a completely touchless guest experience. On-site, YOTEL Tokyo will also include a 24/7 fitness enter, a grab-and-go café, meeting spaces, and an outdoor terrace available to all guests.

“Japan’s focus on technology and innovation has been an important source of inspiration for YOTEL ever since our inception. We are immensely proud and excited to announce our first hotel in Tokyo. A flagship for our group, YOTEL Tokyo will also be a stepping stone to roll out our brand across Japan, a market of strategic importance for YOTEL,” said Hubert Viriot, CEO of YOTEL.

The company, which operates with major shareholders including Starwood Capital Group, already has 20 hotels worldwide, including 14 in city centers such as New York, Boston, Miami, Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam, Glasgow, and more. It also operates another six airport hotels in London Gatwick, Amsterdam Schiphol, Paris Charles de Gaulle, and more.
