Delta Air Lines Adds New Nonstop into Lagos, Nigeria
by Daniel McCarthy /Delta Air Lines is adding new seasonal service between New York’s JFK International Airport (JFK) and Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA).
The flights will start on Dec. 2, 2024, and run through March 28, 2025. The flight will complement Delta’s existing service from Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International (ATL) into Murtala Muhammed, doubling Delta’s options from the U.S. into Nigeria.
Delta will fly the service on Airbus 330-200 planes, which include Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and its main cabin.
As part of the announcement, Delta warned those returning from Lagos to arrive at Murtala Muhammed at least three hours before departure in order to “overcome airport security screening challenges, particularly with the weighing scales at the close of counters.”
Delta also recently launched a new seasonal nonstop between JFK International and Buenos Aires’ Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) starting on March 29, 2025. The Buenos Aires service and the Lagos service will give Delta flyers the chance to see the new Delta One Lounge at JFK.
