Delta Air Lines is ending its year-round service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Brussels International Airport (BRU) in January. The move comes as the airline shifts its service to the Belgian capital to a new route from Atlanta beginning in March.
The news, first reported by Simple Flying, brings an end to a flight that Delta had operated consistently for more than three decades, with the exception of a two-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline had been operating the JFK service four times a week.
The plan is for Delta to begin flying direct from Atlanta (ATL) to Brussels four times weekly in March, with plans to increase to daily next summer.
With the change, Lufthansa will become the only airline offering direct flights between JFK and Brussels. Lufthansa is a joint venture partner of Delta, and both are members of the SkyTeam alliance.
