Delta Air Lines will resume daily service between New York’s JFK International Airport (JFK) and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) starting on Sept. 1.
The airline’s service has been on and off over the past 22 months. Delta had suspended the route for the summer in June, with a planned restart date of Sept. 1, which the airline confirmed on Wednesday.
In a statement, the airline said, “nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and crew. Delta is continuously monitoring the evolving security environment and assessing our operations based on security guidance and intelligence reports.”
Delta flies the service on its Airbus A330-900neo jet, which includes four cabins: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin.
Other U.S. airlines are already flying into Tel Aviv. United Airlines was the first U.S. carrier to resume service to the region on July 21, with flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Delta will be the second.
