Delta Air Lines Is Dropping Boston to Honolulu Nonstop Service Next Year

Delta Air Lines will end its nonstop service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) after Jan. 4, 2027, dropping the flight from its schedule completely.

The route will only operate for about a month — after relaunching in December 2026 for the holiday season — before ending. It marks the second time in three years that Delta has dropped the route, both times citing weak passenger demand. The Points Guy first reported the news.

The flight was the longest domestic nonstop in the U.S. at almost 5,100 miles. Once Delta drops the route, the new longest flight will be New York (JFK) to Honolulu (HNL), which spans 4,983 miles and is operated by both Delta and Hawaiian Airlines.

Delta is rebooking passengers who hold tickets for Jan. 5 and beyond onto connecting flights through Los Angeles (LAX) and Detroit (DTW).

Delta will still fly nonstop to Honolulu from its other major U.S. hubs, including Atlanta (ATL), Detroit (DTW), Los Angeles (LAX), Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP), New York (JFK), Salt Lake City (SLC), and Seattle-Tacoma (SEA).
