One&Only Moonlight Basin has just opened in Big Sky, Montana, marking One&Only’s milestone debut in the United States.
The 240-acre secluded alpine resort is anchored by two private lakes and surrounded by more than 17,000 acres of protected land, about an hour from Bozeman and adjacent to Yellowstone National Park.
The property offers rooms, cabins, suites, and a community of private homes. In addition to offering a front row seat to Montana’s wildlife, it opens as a destination for outdoor adventure and elevated culinary programming and wellness experiences.

“Bringing One&Only to the United States is a milestone we’ve long dreamed of and there’s no place more breathtaking to make our debut than Big Sky, Montana,” said One&Only President Mark Kirby. “With One&Only Moonlight Basin, we celebrate wild beauty, bold design, authentic connection, and endless adventure, honoring the heart and soul of Montana all year round. This is the start of an exciting new chapter for us as we continue our strategic expansion into the market.”
One&Only Moonlight Basin is purposefully a low-rise development that lets its natural environment shine. The resort has a Main Lodge, East Lodge and West Lodge, all housing guest rooms, including interconnecting family rooms and spacious king suites with separate living areas. The most luxurious accommodation, Big Sky Suite, features a wraparound terrace with an outdoor soaking tub and panoramic views.
The property also has freestanding cabins that offer more space and seclusion, including a private outdoor soaking tub and sitting area with a fire pit. In the residential space, there are four- to six-bedroom Private Homes available to purchase.

Food and beverage options include The Landing, where American comfort food meets alpine classics; Wildwood, serving ranch-to-table delicacies; Akira Back, a modern Japanese restaurant; Sky Lodge, a grab-and-go venue; Dear Josephine, a cocktail lounge; and Moonshack, a speakeasy-style cabin with a selection of whiskey and cigars.
The resort also features the heated One&Only Gondola to transport guests to Big Sky’s Madison Base in five minutes, while there is also a variety of trails and snow sports on-property. Plus, there is the One&Only Spa, which features eight treatment rooms, steam, and sauna facilities, and a full-service fitness center.
